This page explains the commercial position of Know Your Gadget so you can read our articles knowing how the publisher operates.

Where things stand today

At present, none of the articles on this site contain affiliate links, and none are sponsored. We do not receive payment, commission or free products for what we write in our regular articles. The site shows no advertising, and we do not sell anything on it.

Who the publisher is

Know Your Gadget is published by ADMEDIA IMPACT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with number 16509939. Its registered business activity is advertising agencies (SIC 73110 — Advertising agencies). This means the publisher works in advertising, and it may, in future, publish promotional content for advertisers. We would rather say so plainly than leave you to find out.

What may change

The publisher may in future publish sponsored or affiliate content on separate pages of knowyourgadget.com. Such content might be paid for by an advertiser, or it might include links through which the publisher earns a commission if you buy or sign up. If that happens, the following will apply to every such page:

  • A disclosure appears near the top of the page, before the main content, in plain words.
  • The page carries a visible label such as 'Advertorial' or 'Sponsored'.
  • The page states the relationship with the advertiser, including that the publisher is paid or may earn a commission.
  • The page is separate from the regular articles: it will not sit among them presented as independent editorial, and regular articles will not be changed into promotional pages without a visible label.

Those pages may also have their own terms or privacy information if they collect any data, and any such information will be shown on the page. This page is not a substitute for the disclosure on a sponsored page.

Regular articles are researched from listed public sources, as set out in our editorial policy. Advertisers cannot review or change them. We do not claim that this makes the site free of every possible bias, only that this is how the regular articles are made.

How to tell what you are reading

A page on knowyourgadget.com without an 'Advertorial' or 'Sponsored' label and without a disclosure statement near the top is a regular editorial page. If you see a page that looks promotional but is not labelled, please tell us at [email protected] so that we can check it.

Plain links in our articles go to sources such as manufacturers, standards bodies and regulators, and are there so you can check what we say. They are not paid links today. We will label any link that is.
